Chrome Arches

I have been asked by my good man Simon @ Mini Spares to run a poll on the new chrome/stainless arch trim for the MINI.

design 1 is the business , and 2 is bowlocks of the highest order

And I'm not even a big chrome fan (unlike chromeboy Monsta!)

I can't help but feeling they make it look a little 'tacky'. Would be better being able to see the whole car with them on and not just the arch though, might look better then

Aaargggggh!

Too much Chrome! Too much Chrome! I'm blinded!

Chrome is OK in moderation, i.e for the small parts of the car. But the Big version looks too pimpin' and the small version looks weird!

Just My Humble O-pinion though!

Here's the side view of the big arches, I don't have a pic of the small one. I must admit I am not a fan of the huge arches, I think subtle chrome trim (even smaller than the small one above) would look better, and of course it has to run along the full length of the car....

Now I like a little Chrome here and there on a car, but these look a little naff.
before there are any arguments that’s just my opinion.

just read dietcokeplease's comment and pimpin was the word I was looking for. Spot on.

Talking chrome detail!!!

Oh yeh!!!

Thanks Simon for the email! The arches wit the small chromed strip is brilliant!

Simon, do you think youd be able to get that small strip of chrome detailing where the arch meets the car?

Now that would look SUPERB!! Just like the old mini!

Retro styling - WE NEED MORE CHROME!!

I bet monsta is loving this!

Alex.

I like my chrome as much as the next man, but those are not for me.

I like all the chrome rings etc from chrome design for the interior and the chrome grills for the exterior. Regrading the chrome wheel arches I think you should keep your money and develop something else Simon.

Are minispares going to stock the clear side lenses for the indicators?

I love chrome if it's done in good quality - used to have a chromed MG Midget engine bay - I'd go for the big arches try and daxxle a few competitors off the racing line

i think this proves that, regarding chrome, you can have too much of a good thing!

neither design does it for me!

Nah! The first one is by far the best, but the whole thing falls apart where the arches meet the plastic strip along the front and rear bumper bases. Sorry - not for me!

It's a MINI hearse!

The thin chrome strip might look allright if the rest of the wheel arch is in body colour.

Nothing beats a Mini

I am not overly keen on either. which is weird, cos i am a member of the chrome appreciation society, along with monsta, and others.

Still, i do prefer the thin strips..........

Yeah, if I had to go for one, id go for the thinner arches too......but the whole effect looks unfinished because of the matt plastic side skirt, it just doesnt come together for me, the bright shiny chrome, versus the matt plastic......
