Has anybody else on here bought an Alta Performance Antenna?

My girlfriend bought me one for my birthday to go on my new S, and admittedly, it looks the danglies compared to the standard one, but i may as well have stuck on a stick of celery for all the good its doing reception wise for my radio!
Driving under a branch makes the reception crackle, and i live in a flat, populated area, not Outer mongolia, its struggling to even supply radio 1!
Have emailed the supplying company and am awaiting a response, just wondered if anyone has had this problem or if I've just got a dodgy one.
Considering it cost £30, it wasn't cheap for what it is, and its p1ss poor compared to the original.

Hi Scotty, I think you have a dodgy one there, I've had an Alta antenna for about 9 months (so have about another 10 in our club) absolutly no problems.

Must be a dodgy one like you say then, to be fair, company I bought it from have offered to replace or refund my cash, I think I'll go for replacement first as its a cool aeriel.

I've got one of these as well. No reception problems.
I would say it's probably a faulty item.
