Side reflectors?

Hi,

I noticed these side reflectors (?) on the side of many Mini's. Just wondered where you get hold of them or if Mini dealers fit them after purchase?

thanks!

I thought they were only a US market design requirement?

Do you really think they look that good that you would add them by choice?

You can get these at MOSS MINI GB but they are very expensive. About £70 for a set! Some owners on here have bought another plastic set from BMW and got them chrome plated by companies that do that sort of thing. Much cheaper than £70! They are nice though. Like the Cooper S ones without the S! NICE!

I think Mini Me GB is refering to the side reflectors, not the side repeaters.

Side repeaters are the ones with the grill, and the side reflectors are the orange strips in the black plastic wheel guards.

Side reflectors are a US design requirement which you see on many euro cars that land in the US. In most cases the reflectors done much more poorly than in the Mini.

Yea thanks for everyone's help on both subjects, I was talking about the reflectors like AnthonyD said but thanks for everyones help as I was interested in the repeaters as well.

From searching the forums it appears you can get them in the UK but the dealer has no idea how to fit them. It's a shame because I think it adds something extra to the look, and also it's an added safety feature when they light up at night so cars coming side on can see you. You'd think they could just get a set and install them when the cars being made?
