Does the hamann add noticeable downforce to the car at higher speeds (70+). I have driven one with an m7 splitter, and it felt much stabler. I like the look of the hamann a lot more....but want to get the one that actually provides performance as well

Hamman slitter hangs down about an inch, so no clearamce problems there - however, it sticks out about 4 inchs, which is more of an issue. Mine regularly scraoes the group on very uneven surfaces, but I don't let it worry me.,

There is noticable downforce at the front. Gives more weight to the steering, which I like.

I've fitted the CF Scoop and Hamann Style Splitter, you can check my Gallery for pics. Both for $420.

Very nice - my hamman spliter broke in half - when I hit a crash barrier at about 80mph....

Car gone now.... awaiting insurance payout.

Thanx!

I tried driving at 180km/h and it's still fine, hopefully the bolt is strong enough to hold the splitter.

Are you getting a new splitter?

The replacement Works that I'm buying has an aero kit fitted, so the splitter won't fit on it. i liked the look soo much that I'm considering getting the standard front bumper put on so I can have the CF splitter.

I had mine at 150mph (on the clock) with no problems on several occasions (240kph).

I think the standard bumper with the splitter looks gorgeous!

Do you mind telling me how your previous splitter being fixed to the bumper. I fixed it myself where I unskrew the 2 original skrews on the most left&right, put the splitter on and skrew it back using the original skrew . As for the inner part, I use 2 skrews with washer on each side. I might did it the wrong way.

How about your's? Do you have any clip or metal plate bolted together?

The real Hamman splitter comes with 2 metal plates. You open up the plastic of the lower bumper, and position the two plates (about 10cm x 5cm size) inside the bumper assembly. Then you use two bolts to fasten the plates to the bumper thru the splitter. These go near the centre of the splitter.

You also use 6 large screws to fasten the ends of the splitter to the bumper - 3 on each side.

So the real hamman splitter uses 6 large screws, two metal plates and two large bolts.

Not sure what you have or need, but mibe had two metal plates that went inside the lower bumper plastic. You had to drill a hole through the bumber to insert the two 7mm bolts in the plate, then the two nuts were tightened to it from below.
The idead of the plates was to spread the load of the nut/bolt over a larger area of the plastic spltter, I guess so that it had a large contact area.

I can't really advise you on what you need - perhaps the CF is stronger?

Oh yes, I got it. I was thinking the same too. Yes, you are right about the purpose of the metal plate.

Guess I have to reinstall it properly. I did try going 180-200km/h yesterday and today and it still doing fine. I can feel the downforce at 100km/h and above, steering gets heavier.....it feels good.

Thanks Tony!
