Mudflaps - Yes or No ??

Opinions needed,

Ive fitted mudflaps on my Cooper - however some people tell me they are spoiling the looks of the car.....what do you think?

Aesthetics versus practicality?? What should win ??

My dealer fitted them, I wonder how hard are they to remove ??

All comments welcome !!

Personally I like them. I reckon they give the rear a more aggressive stance, by removing the 'smooth bum' look.

As far as removing, you can do it no problem, but you would be left with a few holes in the black plastic trim which of course could be filled with small blanking plugs or even black plastic trim screws.

Don't do it though. Stand out from the crowd - fit mudflaps!

Personally, I think they are nicely integrated, as mudflaps go !!!

Dont fancy the thought of any holes in my trim actually....

Mudflaps fan-club Monsta??

NO NO NO!!!

mudflaps are for diesle estates!! not a funky hot hatch!! and what does make the back look nicer is seeing a nice phat set of wheels from behind....not mudflaps

hehe

when you buy the mudflaps do you get a free pair of driving gloves and a Labrador???
aah you boys and your toys

on more of a serious note though, they do have reflectors in them (if i remember correctly) does that mean you dont have to have the reflector in the bumper if you have clear rear light?

No they don't come with reflectors, you are wrong.

Mine had reflectors stuck on them, but I took them off recently as I got bored with them.

Didn't get a labrador, but the pipe and slippers are at home.

Would the reflectors on the mudflaps fulfil the lighting requirements, or is the height from the ground a problem ??

Yeah I would imagine there are certain laws about the height of a reflector. Hence why some cars (usually 4x4s) have reflectors mounted at a normal car level with indicators etc higher up.

Mud Guards

I think they look good on the front. However, the mud flaps for the rear looks "unusual." I know it's subjective but it's not my type.... it's like stickin out... I'll have mine fitted on the front only.

I like them. I'm contemplating putting them on my S when it arrives.

That said, I'm not doing anything to it for a little while - to see how the looks grow on me, before I change it.

Mudflaps - Yes or No? - Maybe!!!!

The front mudflaps are small, unobtrusive and maybe don't do much but in my book they're a must have! They look like a bodystyling item rather than a mudflap. And they're dirt cheap at £5-6.

Time to be controversial. IMVHO. The rear mudflaps makes the MINI look as though it has a "fat arse" a la Ford Ka. It's much better to leave them off and expose the luvverly tyres. The rear flaps look too big but this probably means that they are more functional.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.
