You have to order them from your dealer, they are not that expensive. Or try to find them on eBay. Fitting the lower one in the standard Cooper S bumper involves a lot of work. I suggest you read the first few pages of this thread to get a good idea of how much work

Yellow Cooper Couldnt have done it without ya.

I hotglued the tabs (and before you make any arts and craft comments) the originals were glued in the same. it worked great. No lie, this guide walked me through the entire
process, my Mini thanks you.

I cut the lower fin (behind the lower grille) off in order to have the grille seat better.
ITS A MUST! Not an option if you want it to sit flush!

if you do so make sure to paint the aluminum bumper so it looks dark. Dont worry about taking off all that sticky tape as you will cut the whole thing off.

Guys thanks again, it turned out PERFECT. Better than I could have hoped.

Australia Finally Done it :-)

I final plucked up the courage to cut the GF's Baby
Put the top part of the grill on the other day, and that gave me a little inspiration!
Was planning on doing some exercise today but got the car mod bug instead , see handy work photos.
Followed the instruction listed in the post and things went reasonably well.
I don't know about everybody else, but the cutting the slots is not a tidy thing, but all gets cover anyhow
I have not cut the angular piece of plastic so it sticks out a little more than perfect, but I might adjust this later on.
Anyhow th GF's is happy so I am happy
Now all I need to do is get some tyres for the TD Race 1.2 and it will be a black beast.

Almost finished mine, got a hold of a scrap bumper which I have been playing with, rather than hacking mine about and rushing the job! Going very well though, it really does seem to be just taking your time about it. Full report to come!

What new bits? I didn't buy any new bits...

Has anyone installed the upper grille without removing their rally lamps?

Seems like someone had to take theirs off and then re-rivet them back on....I'm hoping this isn't nescessary....any feedback would be great

Thanks

No, you will definitely have to remove the lamps first.
Just as a matter of interest, i fitted my aero grill without removing the bumper.

Hi guyz,

After months of carefull consideration, I'm finally gonna order the 2 grilles fom my local dealer ASAP and attempt this mod on my stock MCS bumper.
I think I will use adhesive for the lower grille, just for ease I think.
Can anyone recommend which adhesive to use?????????

Thanks

Just found this fitting guide for a grille for a mini -

ww.grillcraft.com/installs/install_detail.aspx?install_id=166]Grillcraft® - Genuine Sport Grilles - Installs

does anyone know if it's pretty close to what you have to do for a aero grille? I have just ordered an aero grille for £60 delivereed from outmottoring.com and was looking for info on how to fit it to my mcs bumper

This Kept me busy this afternoon on my JCW MCS

Took about 4 hours in total, mostly getting the cutting right and I'm now a black plastic swarf monster!

Next Project is to finish the Mini Pirate Viper Stripes

Grille

Jcw let me know how the Viper go I am cons putting mine on my self.

Just completed my aero grille install, god knows why bmw used those crappy clips for the main grille. Anyway very happy with the flush result although I am going to have to take it off to paint the metal under neath.

Thanks for all the advice gleaned from this thread

I finally managed to get this done yesterday and today I have to say its quite an involved mod this one, IMHO the two end clips on the top of the aero grille and the the second one in from sides on the bottom of the grille are the only ones that are required, I cut the others off and just extended the slots for the bottom edge ones on the bumper.

Turns out the biggest pain was that one of the 3 bolts on the under side of the bumper wouldn't release, it took me twice as long to get the bumper off than it should have done, hence it was dark when it finally came off oh and I managed to nearly slice my thumb off with my dremell

Pics are below , next job is to paint the metal bit, hopefully the rain will die off
