Offline | No they're not, and yes they do, but not me. Try a search for LED AND Sidelights in the exterior forum and I'm sure you'll find some feedback from people with them fitted. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Whoops, didn't check the country of origin of the thread originator. In the UK they are not road legal, not sure on the USA. It's not colour related (blue/white/whatever) it's down to being "E-Marked" and if they're not (and I've yet to find LED sidelights that are online) they're not approved for legal road use. I have seen LED indicators that are approved though. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Are LED turn signals legal? Good question. The BMW Z8 has LED turn signal indicators on the chrome bars in its side air ducts, and this car was sold worldwide, from the 2001 MY till run-out in 2004. About half these cars, including the run-out Alpina V8 Roadster version, were sold in the US. LEDs react faster to current input and so BMW now uses them for the stop-lights on all its 2004-on model year cars citing speed of operation as a safety feature. These have EU, US and ROW homologation. Hope this helps. |
