Question Anyone have the Mini luggage rack?

I've done a lot of searches and read about the roof rack, bike rack, etc., but have not found much information on the Mini luggage rack. Anyone care to comment on its usefulness or problems with it? I've read about the base rack noises but I'm wondering how the luggage rack works.
