Offline | Whiter lights - Pics [UPDATED 24/1/05: Now got LED Sidelights with Pics] I've finally cracked the poops with my orangey sidelights and went and got some white ones from Repco. I bought them basically because thats all they had. They are blue, but have a white light. They cost me around $8. Is there anything better that is legal in Australia that I can get? I've also just installed the Osram Silverstar headlights in my car. Not really that impressed to tell you the truth.. although I havn't driven at night yet so I can't tell you 100% - looks slightly whiter in the photo's though. Offline | I got the sads with the dodgy coloured sidelights too. It's blardy hard to find a match for the xenons too I can tell you. I first used Philips BlueVisions which were barely any better when on and blue when off. The blue globes could be seen through the lens, so that kinda defeated the purpose of changing the cosmetics of the light in the first place! The PIAA LEDs in this thread look okay. Here's a pic of my current setup. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Grr, can't get the images to show properly in the thread. Gazah showed me how but I accidently closed the pager window and lost the code :P Todd, it cost me $20 each for the headlight globes, and $9 for the two blue/white sidelights. The sidelights look fine when on, but as Liam said its the blue when off thats nasty - although that is offset by the blueish glow of the indicators. Havn't had a chance to see it properly in daylight to see if its too noticable. I might just have something coming up soon for the LED sidelights *taps nose* |

Offline | rather than trying to replace the brown parking lights with the white xenons on my car, I've been tempted to actually just disconnect the parking lights altogether Probably a little bit illegal, but it wouldn't really hurt anything? |

Offline | Well, I've just got some LED sidelights and installed them. They're a lot duller than the Narva Arctic Blue ones I had in, but whiter. Don't know if I like them or not yet - I'll have to really have a proper look in the dark to see. It also seems to make the bluey tinge of the indicator bulb a lot more obvious in the photo, wasn't as bad in the flesh though. Thoughts? |

Offline | I've got the ones that we got in that group buy.. I'm pretty disappointed with them to be honest, the bluey tinge is terrible, to the point that some people think you've got blue globes in there. Don't know if I can justify the cost of replacing them again... see what happens ![]() I've got the 3 LED versions, which did you have? |

| MINI2 Master | I had the 4 LED sidelights from autobulbsdirect.co.uk I think there's still some pics in my gallery. I did notice at Autobarn the other day that the philips blue vision sidelights now have a silver bit on the end so they probably don't look as blue in the housing. I had the narva blue ones and they looked appalling in there, I took them out straight away ![]() |

Offline | But I wonder what the light is like from them? Mine are the 3 LED versions, and they are great, just wish they were a bit brighter. I'm working on something that might be able to make this better though ![]() The Narva blue ones are terrible arn't they!!! I was happier with the light though, which is why they stayed. |

| MINI2 Master | the silvervisions were pretty expensive from memory, as in about au$50 for the pair from autobarn, and the LED's I think were about 5 quid each including delivery from www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk, they call them 501 bulbs I think it is. |
