Australia Detaling with Klasse All-In-One and Sealant Glaze

While enjoying some time off work I decided to give Little Blue some loving by giving a her a good old detail. It took about 5 hours on day one and then about 2 on the second day (I'll get onto that soon).

Step 1: Regular wash and chamois
Products used were the usual Meguiars Gold Class shampoo, Meguiars lambswool wash mit and Ultra Microfibre Chamois.

Step 2: Clay bar
Products used were Clay Magic clay bar and Sonus Spritz (Quick detailer) to restore the paint to a glass like surface.

Step 3: Polish
Products used were Klasse All-In-One, applicator pad, 100% cotton towel for initial buffing and microfibre cloth for a final buff. I applied two coats over the whole car and an extra coat on the bonnet and rear hatch/bumper.

Step 4: Sealant
Products used were Klasse Sealant Glaze, applicator pad, 100% cotton towel for initial buffing and microfibre cloth for a final buff. It is recommended that you apply the sealant to the entire car before buffing off. The longer it stays on the better. It was recommended to me to leave the selant on overnight, which I did, and this is why it took more than a day to complete this detailing process. I applied two coats over the entire car, leaving the first coat overnight before removing/buffing. And leaving the second coat for about 3 hours.

I get most of my car detailing goodies from Greg at Eclipse Detailing and here's a pic of the Klasse/Sonus products. If you are interested in using similar products there are some good basic instructions on the Eclipse website.

I took some before and after pics which was kind of pointless in some ways as I did not take them in a light controlled atmosphere, but you can just tell the difference I think. Either way, Little Blue looks nice and shiny at the completion of all this hard work, which is what counts right! For a greater selection of sample images click here (take note of the captions at the top centre of each image).

1. Before washing

2. After washing

3. After clay bar

4. After applying Klasse All-In-One

5. After applying Klasse Sealant Glaze

Cheers Liam

As far as I know, Klasse is not available at the major auto retailers. And apart from the Meguiars Gold Class champoo and wash mit, the rest of the stuff came from Eclipse.

:
Klasse AIO : Klasse Sealant Glaze

:
Sonus Spritz : 100% cotton seamless towels

:
Applicator pad : Microfibre towels

While these exact products may not be available from a Supercheap type of store you can get similar products from the Meguiars range more readily at retail outlets. I've not used the new-ish Meguiars NXT product, but by all accounts it is very good.

Nice job Liam. What'd you use on the black plastic wheel arches and skirts?

Wish I had the time to spend detailing my MCS. Last time I did it, I took the easy out and paid a detailer! It was worth every cent though because he did an infinitely better job than what I could manage. I'm about due to get it done again.

Nice job but youve gone half way.

After the sealent, put on two coats of a good carnuaba, like Pinnacle Sourveign. This is being done for many car shows now and the difference is even more amazing as the color depth deeper!

Hi,
Any problems removing the Klasse Sealant Glaze ? I have heard that it can be quite a job to remove unless you have the layers very thin.

Car looks great.

Do not think using Dawn "washing up liquid" is a good idea. This will strip any wax off your car. Not sure but would expect it would also strip some of the Klasse Sealant Glaze off that you have just applied.
