United-States Any Existing MCS Engine Sensor Support ????

I am getting ready to install gauges in my 2005 MCS. I am planning on installing oil temp and water temp in the gauge pod that has the two gauges under the radio, and soon after oil pressure and oil boost on the pod that stradles the tachometer.

I am trying to find out if the car is pre-configured in anyway for the tempurature sensors, or the oil pressure / boost gauges since I know that mini offers some extra gauges in the accessory catalog.

Does anyone know if either wires or plugs, or other hardware are already in the engine. Or is this an experience where I will need a shop to drill, tap and install wires from scratch for some or all of the sensors.

Thanks for any assistance,

- MadHatter

As far as I can tell there is no prewire for any of those gauges.
I purchased but have not installed the factory oil temp/voltage gauges. (I'm working on the install for the boost gauge) The install kit came with the wiring for both of these gauges. The boost gauge vacuum line connects under the inter-cooler and the oil temp sensor replaces the drain plug. The voltage gauges just taps into the cig. lighter. There are no accommodations for oil pressure as best as I can tell from reading the related forums. I have the factory PDF instructions for the oil temp/voltage set up. PM me and I will send it to you. Thats how I got it. I have found no problems getting wires or tubing thru the fire wall. Penty of grommets to choose from. There a plenty of threads on wiring up the gauges and the lights for them. good luck.

Don't Panic
