United-States MSC springs on a MC??

I have a 2004 MC with the sport package, BBS 17" w/non-runflats.

I would like to lower my car, but don't want the ride to be rough. Our roads here in Austin suck! A friend of mine has his MSC springs and we thought about trying them. Has anyone done this yet, fit MSC springs on a MC? It would only lower the car a little.

Are there any other springs that won't be too stiff. I'm not planning on racing, just want it to look better...less gap!

should be no problem to swap them assuming they are both post02 models?

it would be easier to swap the whole struts with the springs on them than swapping just the springs.

John Cooper have recently released an upgraded suspension kit.... You could maybe look into that. Drops the car 10mm and improves the ride quality.

as far as I know the cooper S set up is different to that of the One or Cooper therefor in theory the springs will not fit but I am not 100% sure

according to the ETK Spring Table, which gives you the part #'s for springs based on
the accessories chosen (and thus the weight of the car), there's a bit of overlap
between MC with SS+ springs and MCS springs. If you have SS+ on your MC, you
already have the MCS springs for a similar weight (slightly less equipped) MCS, and
the same shocks as the MCS.
If you put MCS springs on an MC without SS+, you may have a slight mismatch
between the MC (SS) shocks and the MCS (SS+) springs.
Here's the link to a relevant post: Spring Table via ETK

MC lowering springs, not harsh!

Thanks for the info. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do though. My friends MCS springs are post 03, but the more I read...I may be better off with the eibachs.

I had thought about other springs too, but everyone here seems to think the eibachs will have the least amount of harsh ride quality.

I never even drove my car with the stock run-flats, had the dealer install my 17"BBS RD's before I took delvery of the Mini. So I'm not sure where I compare with an MCS w/ run flats.

I don't want a car that is tooo harsh! My wife drives the car too! She has let me do a considerable amount of mods, but won't go for a much harsher ride, than it is stock.
