Black Cooper Chrome bits looking rusty

This morning I noticed that there are some orange rust looking marks on my BMW fitted spot lamps.

Does any one know ways to remove this staining, or is this lamp actually rusting. They have been on for 11 months (the car was new last March).

Thanks

This is a common problem with the BMW spot lights, and they are rusting, If you take them back to BMW they should replace them under warranty for you.
Have a look at this thread

I recently had the same problem with my MINI Sport spots, but i just took them back and they repaced them with new stainless steel ones with stainless steel brackets, I don't why BMW can not make theirs from stainless steel

Did you see the pics in Autocar today - there are drawings of the next Mini with built in spot lamps are pedestrian impact rules will stop the fittment of external spot lamps

Haven't seen that one...
My MINI sport lamps not pass that one then, what with the stainless steel mounting bar being conveniently mounted at knee cap height!!!!

I didn't see the pictures yesterday, are there any links? Hope they don't look like the ones which were placed in the grilles of 80's family cars
