Hey all,

I'm trying to get the Driver's side European split mirror (aspherical mirror). I've looked at many threads here, and it seems that no one knows the part number? Could any of your great European MINI brothers go to the dealership and get the part number for us Yanks? Thanks!

The split mirror is also called an aspherical mirror. It allows the driver to see more area and bends a bit on the end of the mirror to have a wide angle view.

Thanks for the pics. That's what I thought you were referring to. I had just never heard it called split. I was imagining a definite line in the mirror. I would like to have those mirrors in the US, but not available (or legal I think).

Sorry, I don't know the part number. There was a previous thread on "blind spot mirrors" you may want to look for. I don't remember if the part number was ever given out, but maybe.

When i test drove the mini cooper S at my dealership, the car had a magnified left wing mirror (this is right side drive, i'm in the UK). It made everything seem so much closer. At first it was freaky because it threw the distance off, but the more i drove around in it, the more i liked it for the magnification factor. Does anyone have one of those for their mini?

Mini G, That sounds like you drove a car with a US/Canada mirror in it.

On US cars the right mirror is magnified. On british cars the left mirror is.

If you are left hand drive, it would be your left mirror (driving mirror) What country are you and your MINI from?

I am from Slovenia (Europe), the country near Italy.

From where MINI's come into our country I do not know.
