Offline | Salt/Smear on Windshield constantly Now having to drive in the middle of winter, I'm constantly getting a salt/smear on my windshield that I can only get off by using windshield washer fluid, which I'm not going through about twice a week. Is this a fault of the windshield wipers or just the design of windshield itself? I had no problems with this in my previous car but am struggling to see on the highways now, and it's getting extremely dangerous. |

Offline | Near vertical windshield so low to the ground. Also get some wheel spray. Try stepping back from cars ahead of you. The only thing I do is: Always have a full windshield fluid bottle in the car. I doubt there is anything you could do. If you come up with something, please share. I have been having the same and just suck it up and use the fluid. Paul |

(40 miles each way). i wonder if we can get the bigger washer fluid tank (now available) retrofitted? anybody know? also even if nobody is near me on the highway my mini windshield gets tons of spray from my own front wheels. crazy. |

Offline | I picked up a pair of "Reflex" wiper blades which supposedly grip the winshield better. Only had 19" ones left so I had to get 2x19". They fit pretty well. Both are a little big but better than being too small. Will let you guys know if that helps. |

Offline | I invested in a set of silicone blades, really do nice work, and only need fluid if the windshield is dry. ![]() WARNING-Objects in rear view mirror have a tendency to disappear! 9/20 build '03 MCS IB/W/W, everything but the NAV & Sunroof |

Offline | I also seem to get this problem. The wipers just leave a messy residue on the screen, and the rear wiper is next to useless. Can you actually order bigger wiper for the car? |

Offline | I haven't had this problem, although I use washer to help remove the salt anyway. When I picked up my Mini the guy said you should replace wiper blades twice a year, dunno if that would help this problem or not. |

Offline | I just replaced my wipers on Tuesday, and I am getting a bit of a smear on the lower right side even with washer fluid. And don't get me started on the rear wiper... Is there an aftermarket replacement option in the US? 04 BRG/W MCS |
