Offline | Driving lamps--can I make this change? Hi all, I have an MCS '04 with the dealer-installed driving lamps, which I love. The setup, however, leaves much to be desired. I can only turn them on with the hi-beams already on, and then I have to press the driving lamp button, located to the left of the driver. What I'd really like is to be able to *either* have them go on automatically with the hi-beams, or (even better), be able to turn them on by pressing the driving lights button *regardless* of whether the hi-beams are on or not. Is this possible/easy/can any mechanic do it? They wont/cant do it at the dealership in Boston. Thanks, Frank |

| Only Unbalanced | I installed Alta, which I wired to a switched power lead. I have them on whenever the power is on, main lights or not. Plus, I have 4 lamps, 2 fogs, 2 driving, and I wired them independently, so I can have 2, 2, or 4. Just reroute the wire from the dealer installed to a switched wire under the dash. |

Offline | Frank, You may be interested to read about a new module I have been developing recently, and which is currently under test on a couple of MINIs - it may offer an answer to both your requests ![]() |
