Offline | Chilli Red Aero Kit colour issues Hi, I have just taken ownership of a new Chilli red fully spec'd MCS Works complete with the Aero kit and have just noticed that when parked near an orange street light the rear bumper is alot lighter in colour than the bumpers parking sensors and the body work of the car. The front bumper and side skirts are also slightly lighter but not as much as the rear bumper. Can anyone advise if this is normal or should I contact the dealer?? After all the Aero kit did cost £1300 fitted. Cheers MartinK ![]() |

| Remember | I think part of it could be that fact that at the end of the day the colour looks right in daylight? This is how it should be viewed. Under artifical lights colour reacts differently, especially when it is applied to different surfaces, and material of different thickness. The bumper is obviously plastic, so there will be a slight variance between metal and plastic, as for the aero kit to the standard bumper, this could be as the aero kit bumper is thinner than the stock bumper ![]() You could complain, but its just one of those things that even with todays technology is not going to match when inspected under those conditions, but it will be as close a pantone match under daylight ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | As rakey said you do get slight colour differences under various light conditions, but these should not be too noticable against the body or other colour-coded bits. My hyper-blue MCS goes a greeny-blue on the curves under halogen lights, but is ok in daylight. If you are not 100% happy then I would go back to the dealer & see what he as to say, if possible have a look at anothe Mini with the aerokit fitted. |
