Offline | Anybody have factory full roof or sunroof decals? Changes needed on Demo car... Have another shot on a demo car...this one w/200-300 miles on it. Got the call last night. Didn't go to the dealership while they were open today, as I didn't want to have to say "Yes or no" just yet. ;-) As you may recall, my car was already donated. Went up in smoke, literally, just before Xmas. Am borrowing an old car from my mom, in the meantime. Hence, my interest in hurrying. The demo one is all purple...which seems a little plain, truth be told. It has everything I prefer on the car...except for 3 things. Bummer about these things, too. :-\ Otherwise, I think I would just go for it. (and hope for the best, considering it was a demo) After all, I've had such doubts between this color & Hyper Blue. Neither one completely knocks me over, like I'd hoped. It has leather seats. I could do w/out these...and, they too keep the car quite dark, as they're black. Would prefer 2-tone cloth or even the 2-tone leatherette. It does not have the H-K stereo which would be a BIG bummer for me. I know I can get as good a stereo aftermarket...but I like the way the factory ones fit in so nicely. And, it would be a big pain shopping for this, too! :-{ Just another thing to 'hassle' with. It does not have chrome exterior or rear fogs...but I could live w/this. Doesn't have heated package...again, I can live without. It includes the Sport & Premium packages...silver dash (which I like w/darker cars) and, chrome interior. Bummed about the stereo & roof color, I guess. Not sure I need a white roof... after all, that's one thing that's been stumping me all along on the BEP car. (just whether white is TOO contrast-ey...too flat) Help! :-\ What to do??? Does anybody here have experience w/the full or partial roof decals from Mini? Are they see through for sunroofs? Easily? Do they roll up & look like the pitts in short order? Just thought that might be one 'clever' way I could brighten up an all purple car...maybe add a checkered roof. (would need to see first on another...not sure if it's just "too" much) Or, I sometimes think just a sunroof one could be fun. (more subdued, but still a statement) Any advice aprpeciated! (No, I'm not done yet on needing advice yet, I'm afraid.) 'Til later... |

Offline | Don't settle...get what you really want. We all settle for for too many things in life. Besides with a demo car you KNOW they rodded the heck out of it! Buy new, break it in yourself, get what YOU want. Life is too short to be miserable. Let's dance! |

Offline | Take the car. Add white check pattern to roof, white bonnet stripes, possibly white alloys if you can. Will look superb and probably be one of a kind. You could be motoring by the weekend. ![]() |

Offline | Oh no NeedMiniInfo not again! just kidding. I understand you second guessing yourself I'm one of the people who thought you should go for the purple. I think I said something about men liking blue cars since it's been my experience it is a favorite color for many men. Having a HB car, just means more men will notice you, may make your husband rethink his aversion to purple, kidding again. I really think you'll like the HB (because I did get the feeling you like it) and I understand your aversion to the all purple, I've seen an all purple Mini. I think I even test drove one and it is kind of flat looking (no offense intended to anyone who bought one) I think the purple looks much better with a contrasting roof. I just saw a purple with black roof and black and white stripes at the dealer last weekend, that was a hot car! Very beautiful. I don't know how happy you'd be trying to dress up an all purple car, and it doesn't sound like it has the options you reallly want. Waiting is hard, particularly on the West coast but it makes the car somehow more special when you do pick it up. I don't think the HB looks like a muscle car, and I don't really think the Mini gives that muscle car look. I know how hard waiting is, I was hoping my little truck would hold out until my car came and ended up having to borrow a car and pay for repairs because the wait was just too long for my poor old truck. You can skip over my advice, afterall, I bought what appears to be the most unpopular Mini color, but I do like my gold and black car and that's what really matters, that I like it. So are you really going to like a purple Mini that isn't quite what you wanted? Or worry about what others think of a HB Mini that has all the options and colors you spec'd? ![]() |

Offline | Thanks for the feedback :-) Hmmm.... much to think about. Appreciate your time & the advice. And, Lennie.... And, btw, I started a whole thread on your car color, as I saw it inside a showroom w/the lights they have & gosh...it was truly very classy & striking- looking!! It was a convertible...w/black accents & plenty of chrome accents. Had a full anthracite interior... was very cool. Not sure where you live, but I couldn't help but think of Purdue alumni when I saw the gold/black combo. Even spoke w/someone else about that via email who was a Purdue alumnus. (I had some family go there, btw.) Anyway, the tone of gold is very much like Purdue's gold. So, just thought I'd mention it, on the slim chance you're a Big 10 person. (okay...enough local American references, I guess) ;-) 'Til next time... |

Offline | Horgy..how many miles? How many miles did your demo have on it, when you got it? Did they discount it much?? Did you find yourself compromising on much to take the demo & have a car right away...or did your car actually have more on it, than you wanted? Thanks! |

| Mini OneS Owner | Uh, 7500 on the clock, They wanted 13000 but I got it for 12500. It's a Mini One but it's got nearly every single options bar DVD nav and leather seats! It's pretty nice, i'm happy with it, just make sure you do a FULL check for dings and scratches etc.. Horgy |
