Black rear bumper inserts for aero kit

Hi,

I'm trying to find out if there are black bumper inserts for the rear aero kit bumper....(instead of using the supplied white-looking alluminium ones...)

I've trawled all the online shops I could find, as well as mini2....I know I heard of these somewhere, but I have no idea where....does anyone know if they exist and where I can find them..?

(Or am I going crazy.... )

hey Tit,

I posted up here a while back after this exact thing. I believe there is a car kicking around the UK with this mod but no-one has been able to point me in the right direction as where we can get hold of the black stickers.

Would be great if someone can show us the way as I believe the black grilles would look much neater than the silvery/white ones that come standard.

Cheers,

I did mine myself and all I did was buy some Matt Black Plasticote from Focus Do It All and sprayed the original aluminium stickers (before puting them on the car ). Been good for over 20,000 miles so far.

Neat work...!

I was thinking I might get some thick-ish black or dark silver mesh and use the inserts as templates.....

hmmm....who knows....

Cheers for the piccie!

After fittting the kit myself, I woudnt recommend cutting out the holes.

Best option is get black stickers, then possible glue some light mesh on top of the stickers and then stick em on.

How easy is it to remove the aluminium OEM insert thingies? I quite fancy just being body coloured in there...Think i've seen a DS someweher (could it have been Paul Donkin's S perhaps?) which was just body coloured and I really liked how clean it looked.

Don't want to start taking mine off though if they are going to leave a horrible sticky messy mess behind...

Should be preety easy. It isn't the stickiest of glues holding it on.

You car looks fantastic as it is, Nylo - can't see why you are wanting them off!

Incidently, I've never had gotten round to actually putting them on myself, since I installed the aero rear bumper on my MC a year ago...

England

IMHO the Aero rear bumper looks very plain without something in the grooves....OK the supplied stickers may not be the best looking of inserts but I do think that something is needed!!!
I agree though that your car looks amazing as it is Nylo....rather than going plain, how about checking out these....

Thanks for the nice comments guys, much appreciated

Wish I could remember where I saw that DS S without the inserts- I did like that a lot... If I ever do get round to taking them off, I'll post a couple of pics
