What is the best way to insure that the Bonnet Stripes will last a long long time and not start to peel off after a while? I also ordered a Roof flag which I understand is also a Decal, so the question also applies to it I guess.

I've no direct experience with decals like this (I've never had a car that had decals), so be forewarned that my advice is utterly and totally uninformed, but I would surmise that the best solution is to just wax them regularly with the rest of the car, and try to use a decent wax that has good UV protection properties. I would think that decals under a layer of wax would be less likely to peel than bare decals (and less likely to fade, too)...

My chequered roof is made of satin black vinyl. If I should wax it, it would look a terrible mess with white smeary marking. Instead I use Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care. It is supposed to contain a UV protectant. Do not use a pressure washer near the vinyl either. It will lift it off if you are not careful. Do not rub or polish against the vinyl edge. Pointed edges are most prone to lifting.

Take a big patience tablet because you'll need it.

When you say "satin", do you mean a satin/matte finish as opposed to a glossy finish? Just curious, my car will have the panoramic sunroof rather than a flag (although it will have bonnet stripes)...
