Question Non-Amber rear lights - where ?

We're new Cooper S owners (ie 1 day) - and I want to change the car a little.

Now, in the Mini brochure - they list the non-amber rear light cluster as :

"Rear lights with white direction indicators" @ £175.00

Now, surely you can get these little babies cheaper somewhere else ?

Thanks!

I got mine from CTD. Think they're around 160 euros now, just a touch cheaper.

If you get them from BMW you get the clear 3rd brake light too for £175. Wait till you have a complaint then get some Mini gift vouchers to buy them with like I did

MCS JCW EB/B 210 Bhp lots of extras!

If your car is brand new you won't be able to fit those lights. The facelift swapped the reverse and foglight positions around and the only alternative there is from MINI at present is the same lights as the factory standard ones, but with a white indicator at the top instead of an orange one.

Does anyone know where to get these '05 taillamps with the white turn indicator lens for retrofit?

Yes, I'm with IrishCooper.
Here in the US, the whole taillamp is red.
If anyone knows of a dealer or after-mkt supplier who sells the oem euro-spec '05 taillamp with the clear turn indicator, please post info.

Thanks all!

I had an S in today with them - I would say they are a waste of time without changing the bulbs as at first I thought they were orange as the orange bulb in them makes them look orange

Well its better than all red. Whether its amber or clear with a amber bulb it still looks cool and is different than what we have here in the US. Mikeythemini can you help us get some sets. We can send you the money if you can get them and send them to us.

Besides the looks, I also think that the amber blinker is more distinguishable and safer than a red blinker in terms of visibility.

Philips makes a bulb called Silvervision, which when not lit looks silver coated (so as not to detract from the white lens look, as mikey observes), but will blink amber.

They seem to be available on new cars as I have seen them but you can't buy them
The ones mentioned in the brochure as far as I am aware are the old shape ones with the white indicator in the middle (came out when the clear lamps were withdrawn over here.
I will keep digging at my dealer
I has taken 2 months to get some rubber washers out of them - I finally found the part number myself
