Question Removing plastic bumper mesh ?

Hi, I have just purchased the following from Mini Mania :

Stainless Rear Mesh for Cooper S

Cooper S Stainless front mesh

The instructions (despite one set being in german !) say to remove the original plastic mesh trims using a screw driver to pry them out, I have had a quick go at this and the things dont semm to wann break free, at least not with scratching some of the paint work on the bumpers.

Has anyone bought these parts and had experience with fitting them ?

Also when I ordered them i did request that they only send me them if they are compatable with the 2005 model MCS, are there any difference between this and older models, the new rear trims do seem to be somewhat larger than the stock ones (just looking at them without them removed could be misleading though).

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

hello DCM,
hope this helps,
when i removed my cooper bumpers to replace them with S type
bumpers, i seem to remember that to remove the standard plastic mesh,
you have to remove the bumper from the car as its attached from BEHIND,
so therefore will not prise out.
i think when you have removed the bumpers(its on here somewhere),
it will be obvious how to remove the plastic then re-fit the stainless
meshies.
as i said i hope this is of some help.

also from what i have seen, there is no difference between 2004 and 2005
spec mcs front and rear bumpers...
