| MINI2 Regular | I have a tailored mini cover for my MCSC which fits like a glove, has incorporated wing mirror pockets. It is made from a light breathable fabric and I have had it on my MINI every night for the last 4 weeks. I have not noticed any surface scratches or marks to the paint work, they are designed not to scratch the car surface. The plastic buckles have a protective silicone cover to prevent scratching/marking the underneath. Hope this helps. Just one last thing with my cover you do have to keep taking the antenna off, as the cover does not allow for this. nickw |

Offline | Sometimes we have to go for the lesser of two evils. Yes sometimes it may be a worry of wear against your paint, but if you work in an area as I do, the other problems may outweigh the wear worry. I work in a boatyard where they spray epoxy paints, there is rarely a day when a boat is sprayed indoors. Overspray is everywhere!! My previous vehicle ( a Chevy Silverado) was covered in the stuff. The truck was also black, it was a mess to remove the overspray. ( many hours of work with overspray clay.) My mini gets covered everyday, so far no overspray problems. I have the cover process down to a science it goes on quickly and easily. The trick is as follows. Place the cover on top, Slip the antenna through the antenna pocket, spread it out and use the mirror pockets on either side to hold it in place too, latching on the mirrors of course. after that it is easy to finish the covering job. When you remove start from the front and fold and roll the cover back to the antenna. then the next time it is easy to find the antenna pocket. Simple quick and easy! ![]() |

Offline | The most important thing to keep in mind is that you should not put the cover on unless your car is 100% clean. While the cover won't scratch the paint, movement of the cover (for example, by wind or rain) on gritty dirt against the paint will cause scratches. Once you have used the cover on a dirty car even a good laundering may not take the grit transfer out of the inside of the cover. 2003 BRG/W MCS - The Way We Wrrrrr!!!!! |

Offline | I purchased the Mini Convertible Car cover, it was a bit pricey and I'm sad to say I didn't get to use it much because my car was always so dirty during the winter there was no point in putting the cover on an already dirty car. http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=36336 If you look 1/2 way down this thread you can see a picture of the offical mini car cover on my car. Fits really nicely. |
