United-Kingdom Auxillary driving lamps

Having purchased an OEM driving lamp kit for my UK 2005 Cooper S with Xenons, I am in currently in the process of fitting the unit.

Could anyone advise where the brown/white cable connects to, on the U.K.spec driving lamps.

Reading the fitting instructions as in the "Mini how to pdf's" it appears to be for the U.S.which although very similar, it is connected and controlled by an AUX switch and is not supplied with the kit I purchased. I assume the U.S. have different legislation to the U.K.

Also I am aware it needs programming by the dealer but does anyone know why it cannot be taken off one of the leads connected to the main beam driving lamps.
Thanks in advance[/size].[/b]

no no

dont wire this cable to any led's
this cable when connected to a 12v pos
will activate the aux lamps
so the choice is yours
i wired mine to the front fog lamps just use a multimeter and find the cable that is switched positive when you turn the lights on
high beams or wherever
you can fit an aux switch if you want like the instructions
or find the loom that switches the high beams on and find the cable and connect it there
before you do fit an inline 5amp fuse then open the 12v pos battery cover in the engine compartment and touch the fuse there to check all is well before you decide where to activate your lights from
hope this helps

Thanks Cooper S Ire for your reply.

I wish to wire the aux lights to come on when on full beam/flash only, and without a separate switch. One would assume that a connection to the feed of the full main beam of one of the headlights (I.E. with a scotchlok connector) would suffice.
I am still confused to why it would need the main dealer to program it.

Regards.

Link to minimeet pdf for RHD http://minimeet.co.uk/instructions/Spot%20Lights.pdf. I have completed this mod on my MC. I had my dealer code this mode for free only takes 5 mins and fitted a aux switch to override the lamps. The only thing with connecting to main beam circuit maybe the fuse loading. The Brown/white stripe connects to BC 1 white plug Pin 41 and relay coil, this is a software switch to supply -ve to energize relay.
Good luck this is not an easy mod

Guys..need advice here...

So , I bought the wiring loom kit off ebay and there is no internal switch.

The instructions supplied with the loom (genuine) shows a switch... and also states that no coding is required...

I have read other instructions (MIN pdf) and they dont show a switch AND need coding!

I am sssuming that the coding is required if we use the BCM to enable the relay based on the fact the headlamps are on..?

If that is so, I would prefer the opther way with the switch, as it states that the headlamps will be on if the switch is on AND the headlamps are on... and is wired to the BCm too...

Anyone found a concise circuit diag for both approaches?
