As per my post a few spots up:

- Do these still light up properly at night?
- Are they US/Canada legal?

Judging from the number of current cars sold with no side markers, I would guess they are not required equipment up here in Canada. We probably get them because some states require them, pay attention to newer cars and whether or not they are present.

Might get some photos done soon, took some but they were quite frankly rubbish, then forgot all about photos and stuff. Maybe get some time next week.

Actually, all current cars up here are sold with sidemarkers -- in a way. Most manufacturers wrap the headlights & tail lights around to the sides of the vehicle so that they can cut costs and still easily include a side marker inside the cluster. Of course this doesn't work on a MINI, so they added them in the wheel arches.

Will have to do some digging into the Canadian law books, me thinks.

Got the wiring and connectors in the post today - thanks very much Mikey

One absolute beginners question though, how do you join the new wires to the existing side light wires?

Thanks Abi.

Lights are fitted and working a treat

I've not done any soldering before so I opted for Maplins cheap and cheerful snap-locks and lots of insulating tape. I just couldn't risk learning how to solder on the MINI.

The rear wiring is slightly more cheeky than expected - on the left its Brown and Grey/Violet. On the right its Brown and Grey/Yellow. Luckily the Haynes and Bentley manuals make it clear in their wiring diagrams.

Thanks again for the parts mikey

I think it should become a MINI2 Project car, tout it around a few sponsors and see just how radical a One can become, it would promote their products and services and could be used to promote MINI2 at events around the country
