Number plate screw caps

Hi, can anyone help? I've got some number plate screw caps that I'd like to replace. The problem is the caps are ones which just fit over the screw head and are not the usual hinged caps. Anyone know where I can get them? I've tried Halfords and they've just got the hinged type.

many thanks

Hi, used to work in the motor trade, got some spare yellow and white ones which you put the screw through one piece, attach to car and the cap clips over to hide the screw, all one piece, any use to you ? Regards Damian.

Cheers Damian. :-) Good of you man but unfortunately those are the hinge ones. I have to use the screws which are in the plate already and they are quite thick which means the hinge caps don't fit and I can't use the hinge cap screws as they don't grip in the hole. er... hope that makes sense. thanks again for your offer.

No dreaded hinges? Does it just snap on over the screw head?

sorry they are hinged, why dont you replace the screws with some normal self tapers so they fit with the hinged type??

Because the drilled holes already in the plates are bigger than the self tapping screw heads - so the self tapping screws pass through. Think I might get some new plates and stick them on instead. :-)

Yep I had this problem too. I bought some of the hinge type from eBay for £1, but the screw holes are too big. I'd also like some of the cap types to go over the screws!

If the ones you want are the same as the dealer fitted.........then ask the dealer, they shouldn't cost too much
