Lightbulb How to fix tiny door-ding dents????

Hello all,

Just got one of those infamous "parking-lot" dents where it looks like someone opened up their car door and the edge of it hit my mini. The dent is no bigger than a quarter, but it's killing me, and there's a scratch in the paint.

Anyone have any recommendations as to the easiest way to repair it? I'm in the Chicagoland area, but I guess that doesn't really matter.

Thanks in advance.

Try the yellow pages for one of the "paintless dent repair" guys like "Dent Wizard" or "Dent Doctor", or ask your dealer if there is a detailer specializing in that. If they've got them in my small town, you surely will. They truly can work miracles.

Looks like Dentbusters is going to be the route to go....for $75 they do the paintless dent-remover........doesn't look too bad.

Ding help in the future

Sorry to here about your door dings. It's my worst nightmare and why I park miles away from my destinations. One possible help to prevent door dings is a magnetic bump strips. California Car Covers (www.calcarcover.com) sells one that is 25" long and 6.5" high. It's made from shock absorbant PVC. When you park you just place them on the door and walk away. I purchased some from LeatherZ that are only about 1/2" wide. They are made specifically for the MINI and look like permanent items.
Hope this helps.

Smile Here's a Pic!

I checked where I purchased my bump guards and it's Z3 Solutions not Leather Z (sorry about that).
Their website is www.z3solutions.com. I didn't see the guards I bought but they offer the same magnetic door guards that I saw from California Car Cover . I bought mine about 3 years ago, and as I said they are much thinner (about 1/2 ") and made to fit the MINI. You might inquire at Z3 Solutions if they still offer them. I've attached a picture of the guards Z3 and California Car Cover offer. You might find them from another company cheaper since they are a generic fit.
Hope this helps.

I just park way the hell away from everyone to prevent dings. Dent free for 12 months now.

What about body side mouldings as so many other vehicles have? Anyone know where I might get some aftermarket ones (and not the chrome ones that don't go right across!) or even make my own, any suggestions appreciated.
