I recently brought some aftermarket Lexus rear lights for my 05 Cooper, but they don't fit!

The seller said they were to fit BMW Mini's.

Does anyone know if they've changed the design and layout of the rear light clusters for the 2005 model??

There is a different wiring system for 05's because they have led rear lights.
The lights you bought are more than likely non-led's and will only fit cars from 04 back

No Minis have LED lights - Yet
But as fabio says the lights for 05's are different. They are the same size BUT 01-04 have fog lights in the rear lamps, 05 have reverse lights

Thank you, they will have to go back then what a shame they were nice too.

Just get it rewired, mikey says its not a difiicult job. Think mine will be rewired to the old style lights...depends if they grow on me or not.

A couple of people on here kept going on about them being LED lights as part of the face lift, so probably them.

But I really fancied the one's with the 'Black Projector Design', to match my Black mini. And I don't fancy messing about with the electrics just yet. But I will keep you in mind.

HOLD On, Lexus rear lights? Since when is a Lexus part going to fit BMWs? Unless you mean the Euro Style taillights inspired by the Toyota Altezza (aka Lexus IS300) that have become a mod every import car seems to have nowadays?

I have an 02 mini and i want the 05 taillights. Will they fit. i am not worried about the wiring i can wire them myself. i am worried about the fittiment w./ the body.
