Offline | Sorry, it's probably been asked since the forum started, but I can't find the link! Help! It's the shark fin type. I've also looked in the FAQ file too. ![]() Last edited by Spotty Dog : Apr 13th, 2005 at 12:00 PM. |

| MINI2 Regular | Hello i have managed to chsnge mine. i have no pics at the mo as i am at work now. 1st you need to prise off the oval amber or clear bulb cover do this with a flat head screwdriver. Very Carefully!!!! then disconnect the wiring and bulb. pull out the orignal black vent it is held in place by two plastic clipss. one is a ball and socket clip the other is L shaped. be careful not to snap them. place in new shark fin vent to the left so the first L shaped clip settles next to body work then push the other end into socket. reconnect bulb and wiring together and place in oval bulb lense. push this in the oval hole in the shark fin vent. hope this ok ish. would be better if i had pics. sorry ![]() |

Offline | To make life easiest lift up the bonnet and put your hand down the inside of the wing behind the vent and push from behind it should pop out with a little persuasion.Once you have changed bulbs and lenses, which is straight forward ,put the vent in the hole and push while at the same time supporting the metal tabs that it clips into with your hand from inside the wing.More than likely you will find that it won't just clip in straight away ,if it won't then pull the metal tabs that it clips into, forward a bit. After a little trial and effort they will pop in.If they come back off easily then they aren't fitted right.I have fitted the same set on both my MINIs to date and the info about pulling the tabs forward if they don't clip in is the key, somebody posted on here somewhere with that little gem.If they hadn't mine would have either fled off when driving or have been broken during fitting.Hope all goes well. ![]() |
