DIY Auto window/sunroof closing from keyfob - module now available

The first one is on my car & works great
Press the lock button on the remote & the windows & if fitted sunroof close. There is no need to keep the button pressed.
There are 3 wires
1 goes to an earth bolt
The other 2 must be spiced into the car wiring (warranty issues at your own risk)
The box is tiny & comes with enough cable to do the job.
The car must have the factory alarm (sensor in roof) & is not for the cabrio.
PLEASE NOTE If you have children I would not recommend this mod. Only use it when you can see no person or animal can get trapped.
Its now online at www.newministuff.com in the 'gadgets & cool' stuff section

Was class tonight - went for petrol - sun shining. As I went to pay - pressed the fob - the windows closed & mirrors folded, motorist next door grinned

How does it differentiate between locking and closing then? Or does it always just try to close the windows for x seconds?

Can you show how it is installed?

I should be getting the newest beta of the similar module from KPtech and am wondering how they compare.

It knows you are locking by getting its signal from the alarm.
Will post some pics hopefully can take pics Friday

As stated in the first post its not for the cabrio Sorry
The pulse is variable
The cabrio does not have the trigger like the saloon.
When I get another cabrio to play with I will look further into it cos I also use the trigger for my mirror conversions

I meant, does it always try to close the windows every time you try to lock the doors? Since they would usually already be up I would think this may cause early stress on the window motors.

Where does it install? In the wiring harness in the footwell? In the door? On the body module?

Just wondering.

Received my Auto-Closing unit from Mike on Saturday & Completed installation Today.
Pretty simple in theory to connct the 3 wires, the only one that posed any problem being the one that had to be spliced into the Roof alarm unit, but a bit of pushing & pulling on the Fishwire soon had this cable in place.
{Note -I pulled through a 12 core but only only 1 wire was rqd ..Future Plans... }

Suprise Suprise ...It worked 1st time, the Windows & Sunroof automatically closing after the KeyFob Close Button was pressed ...
{without the need to adjust the trimmer on the underside of the unit }

Thanks again Mikey

Taking cable up the A-Pillar into the roof

Cable reaches the Alarm Unit

Splicing into the Door Cable under the Dash

3rd Cable is taken to an Earth Bolt &
Unit Neatly Stuck in place on underside of the inner bulkhead

Mikey, I've VERY interested in this - I was going to get one from a US guy (That required you to hold the button down, like the unlocking one) but he's never got back to me at all.

Is there any way at all you can do this (and the folding mirrors!) without an alarm in the car, or do I have to try and retrofit the alarm?

By the way, thanks for the information you got for me on the Pioneer DVD unit that i phoned you about (The guy from Australia a week or 2 ago), you've got top service mate

Cheers,

Kev

I was hoping your install would be much easier than the kptech but it appears not. That's what has been keeping me from installing it right away, I can't find an easy way to get to the wires that are needed to tap once they come in from the door in the footwell. It could be easy with those snap-on wire splicers, but I don't trust those things.

So since the 05s have the auto window open SF open when you hold down the button on the key fob does this mean i can also close it all with the keyfob too? And it doesnt effect the locking or unlocking?
