Offline | Cooper S Exhaust Fit A standard Cooper??? Hi guys and gals!!! I'm new to MINI2, and would just like to say how great it is to be part of the New Mini community! I have a burning question... I have been looking at purchasing a full BMW aero body kit with a 'S' style rear apron (ie- exhaust orifice in centre) to fit to my standard Cooper, if so would I be able to fit a Cooper 'S' exhaust to my Cooper in order for the exhaust to appear correctly with the rear apron of this kit??? (ie in the middle not to the right (UK spec). Or to make it easier can you fit a Cooper 'S' exhaust to a standard Cooper??? Hope this makes sense. Someone's help would be muchos appreciated ta! Offline | It has been done I believe, but the hangers are different so it takes some work. There are some aftermerket options. WIth any luck someone who has found a solution will answer you soon, and I'll be watching as my brother in law wants to the same thing, asks me, the "MINI guy", and I'm pretty clueless. Offline | Major Pain to do with the standard factory parts. In fact, you have to chop off a piece of the Cooper chassis to accomplish it (and you can then never go back to original). I have "heard or read" there are aftermarket exhaust systems that will accomplish the same thing but I could not tell you where or who sellls them. Did you try a search?? |

Offline | I have done this. Just get a used cooper S exhaust and fit it in. You need couple hangers, brushes and remove the spare tire. It fits perfectly without any hassle. Easy. Here is couple pics of my car (CVT COOPER with COOPER S Look All Around): Tip: Check the Spoiler. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | So I assume the holes in the metal unde the boot floor for the hangers are already in place on the Cooper? Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

Offline | I have a One Convertible and have just fitted a full aero kit, all colour coded, and an S exhaust. I got the exhaust off ebay for £125 all in. It was off an S that had the John cooper works fitted from new. It was a real pain to fit because the convertible has cross bracing on the underside to give it extra rigidity-i had to make a few adjustments. But saying that i think the standard cooper should be much simpler as it doesn't have the cross bracing. I wanted the standard S exhaust because it is the real thing and should help when it comes to selling, oh and it makes a great sound too!! Do a bit of detective work about the exhausts that use the standard cooper hanging brackets but have a centre exit. If you can get an S exhaust from a scrap car, or from someone who had the john cooper works conversion, then this would probably be the cheapest option by a fair bit! Anyway good luck whatever you do |

Offline | Spoke to a local dealer today and they have fitted an S Exhaust to a One, too get the exhaust to fit they needed to remove the spare wheel box and add new hangers which are for an origional S, he said it was a fairly straight forward job for someone who knows what they are doing ![]() |
