The StyleBar

Well .. What else could I call it !!
Ever since I picked up this MCS I`ve been mulling over various ideas on how to both add more chrome & revise my earlier Mk1 BadgeBar Project .
So Today I finally got round to putting it all together.

Maybe its for a weird spread-out 'Knight Rider' effect

Well Spotted.
White or Blue 12 Volt LED`s - Stainless Steel Housing - Waterproof -
Too good to use on Decking I thought .. & they were knocked down to £7.50 (pack of 4)

It was far easier than anticipated to tell the truth, with everything going to plan.
The Bottom section of the Front Spoiler is cheaply available (arond £20-) direct from your local BMW dealer`s parts dept, with slightly different variations for each MINI varient.

Its just down to your imagination of what to do with it

Removal of the Front Bumper assy is pretty straightforward

As long as they`re the 12Volt type with the built in volt-drop resistor.
{LEDs normally blow with anything over 2 Volt }

Decking Leds are ideal as they designed to be hardwearing & rustfree

Hi mate

got the LEDs today - 30 squidders for a pack of 10 white. nearly had to get blue but just went to a different branch - its better than getting pulled over!

Hopefully it'll be an easy fit, all 10 plug in to a junction box which will work with less than 10 on, which is wired to a 12v adaptor, i figured id break the wall adapter - junction box wire and wire it to my sidelights! I'll be sure to get you some pics when done on sat.

cheers for the idea dude - hope you dont mind that there'll now be 2 in the coutry!

hmmm...

I will do! always thought of myself as a model!

One problem im having is where to put them - im suckin' diesel you see and my lower bumper is different to yours, may have 2 either side and one in the grill.

The kit came with 10 lights - any ideas for locations of the other 5?

P.S. tried my best to get a photo to show but its bloody dark and m camera's flash is all or nothing. dont buy a sony DCS-F717 for the love of god!

I think Id try and keep an even number of lights to keep the symmetry.

As for the remaining lights, How do you fancy being the 1st with extra LED Reversing lights in the rear bumper section or surround.

cheers for the diagram mate, I'll follow as closely as possible! have to try my best to make them stick to the grille. How would one go about linking the LEDs to the reverse circuit? is there some extra triggering gizmo there incase i have rear PDC that I can utilise?

could always put them beneath pollen vents?
