Offline | 2005 Tailights any different Hi: I'm eagerly awaiting for delivery of my 05MCS. I'm already looking for aftermarket tail lights. Is there any difference in fit between the 2005 tail lights and the tail lights of previous year minis? Thanks for your input. |

Offline | No difference at all. The older models tail lights fit perfectly. Dave MINI-Rolls www.gominigo.com - Gbt and 'Ho Holes' 2005 MCS Cool Blue Cabrio - COOL BLUE MEANIE - President - WWW.PSMINI.ORG |

Offline | They'll fit, but aren't they wired a little differently due to the tail/backup switch that MINI made for '05? Every aftermarket place (either online or magazine) will sell 02-04 lights but say those won't fit the '05. (assuming the wiring differences?) Just wondered. Taz |

Offline | I've swopped my own tail lights from '01-'04 to '05 spec. There is no difference in the physical fit of the lamp but, due to the change in the reversing light position, you do need to modify the wiring loom to make it work. Offline | Hi: How was the back up lights prior to 2005 models? I was thinking of getting the Altezzas in attached picture. It looks like the reverse light is in the middle. What kind of wiring change must I perform? Thanks a bunch. |

Offline | The reversing light used to be in the centre of the bumper, near the bottom. In UK spec models this is now the rear fog light. I've seen those lights before and I'm pretty certain that there is no provision for a reversing light in them. I know what the wiring mod is to convert a UK spec '04 to '05 lamps, but that is unlikely to be of any help to you! Sorry!
