La Vacca/Aero Kit combo...........hmmmmm

Picture the scene if you will, sitting about doing no work when you have loads to do, thinking about all things mini, when an idea pops into your head so potentially great, that it borders on the realms of complete ****

Well i sort of had one of these ideas today. Now then the La Vacca body kit as seen here:

http://www.mini-design.com/lavacca.htm

on the mini design web site. Well, check out image no. 5 which is of the back of the car. I particularly like this part but am not sure about the whole kit. Well my idea is this.

Would it be possible to fit the rear section and the wheel arches and have them merge flush into the aero side skirts? This way you could adopt any exhaust configuration you so desired and have a far more aggressive looking car without going OTT. Please consider the fact that the rear arches would be more prominent then the front ones giving it that wider backed aggressive stance. Would you maybe put some sneaky 19's on the back and 18's on the front????? Or would this idea just make the car look like a pile of poo?

Now i'm not really considering going for this crazy combo as such. Just wondering if you think it falls into the realms of 'great idea i love it' or 'what the hell were you thinking!' just wondering if the hours spent infront of the computer have brought about some productive creativity today!!!!

Funny you should mention this because i was planning a similar combo. I was going to use the standard arches but the La Vacca bumpers and the aero sideskirts. Im not sure the wider rear track would look right but you dont know until you try. Also the rear bumper would be a lot lower than the front and that may make the car look a bit wierd.

And I was thinking about Aero front bumper and skirts + La Vacca wheel arch extensions... Also checked MHW/Breyton wheel arch extensions, but you have to go for the 10pc kit there, whereas I would only need the parts that go over the wheels (not connected to the bumpers or skirts). Wonder if you can get the LaVacca arches separately

My brother works in a body shop, so he could trim the arches so they merge flush into the Aero bumpers/skirts. I'd have them sprayed in the same mat black used for the Aero kit so as to make it look like an OEM job. Need wider arches because my 8" wheels come out too far to my liking (same width as the standard arches at the moment).

Keep me posted, all

La Vacca wheel arches received. 200£ for a set. Sounds reasonable.

6-piece kit

Centimeter or two wider over the wheels at the rear, little difference at the front, just wider where they merge into the bumpet/side skirt bits...

But how to attach them? No instructions or clips attached/included...

I'll check with MD to see how I can fit them...
