Offline | Please tell me if you like these rally lights Do you like these rally lights better than BMWs? Do you think dealers would install them? Thanks http://www.mini-madness.com/item.htm...0&PRID=1239743 T |

Offline | Nice lights. I think I like them better that the MINI OEM's. Would be nice to see them in black. My S is Red with black top and mirrors and would compliment nicely. I'm not into chrome. Offline | Hi guys. I am new to the forum. I have a Cooper S on order for December delivery. They tell me it will be a 2003, so I am not even sure exactly what options will be offered. I am waiting until the last minute to specify anything. In any case, I am a light nut. All of my cars get equiped with the brightest lights I can upgrade to. The Cooper S remeinds me of my old Renault 5 Turbo 2. It had a Maxi turbo hood. They should do one like that for the Coopers. The driving lights were molded into the hood. I like the way these driving lights look. But in order to compare I would like to know what the factory lights are. So far nobody can tell me. Who makes them? Are the housings metal or plastic. What kind of bulb and wattage are we talking about? Details, please? Thanks. |

Offline | I think all rally lights look bad on the MINI, as the bonnet/hood (please delete as appropriate) slopes away from the bumper too quickly and spoils the line of the car. Unlike the mini where extra spots look excellent. However, the front fog lamps are the business on the MINI. |

| MINI2 Crash Test Driver | I would agree with Smurf. These do look a great design, although if I had to have spotlights, I would go for the official MINI ones, purely because they are rounder and fit with the roundish look of the car. Spanky2k Officially the worst MINI driver in the Universe!!! |

Offline | Welcome to this crazy forum, nynidan! I posted a rally light setup integrated into the hood on a Mitsu?, I think, a while back in another thread http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...7146#post47146 where it got less than a rousing rewiew, but I like the concept myself. ![]() The MINI headlights and fog lights are supplied by Automotive Lighting.de. On the standard Halogen lights the bulbs are H7--55watt, 1350lumen for both High (Main) and Low (Dipped) beam and also H7 for the fogs as well. The HID optional lights are a D2R Low beam 35watt, 2800lumen and a H7 High beam bulb. Don't know what the housings are made of. ![]() |

Offline | tnx You are refering to the headlights and fog lights? I am curious about the optional fog lights. I just started a new thread. PS-That pic is close, the Maxi Turbo hood had two lights. http://zap.to/zag Last edited by nynidan : Jun 13th, 2002 at 05:58 PM. |

Offline | The accessory driving lights are not available as a factory installed option. The dealer sells these and installs them. They are 5" diameter, use a H3 55W bulb, and come from A-L Inc. in Germany. |

Offline | The housing, reflector, and trim ring are all chrome-plated metal. They come with black plastic covers with MINI logos, which will come in handy if you live in a snow state that uses sand on their roads, since the lenses are glass and not polycarbonate. |

Offline | The 5.25" Mini rally lamps are actually made by Mini/BMW. I have sourced a very close replica of them - but hush hush for now. The lense pattern on these lamps by Mini are very unique and will be hard to find one that matches. IMO, you get some nice hardware for $400, but to pay a dealer over $700 to install them is just insane. Save your $$ - buy some PIAA lamps and wire them in yourself.
