Windscreen wipers - the rubber bit...

The rubber bit of my windscreen wipers (the flappy bit that wipes the window i mean!) is starting to come away from the wiper blade - currently a third of it is flapping in the wind - quite literally - does anyone know where I can get some replacements? Or would I have to go back to my dealer only? It's getting a bit dodgy when it rains now

Err.. just replace the wiper blade. Go to any auto shop and there are wiper blade replacements, they have full instructions on how to fit them on the back of the packet, and you cut them to length.

I didn't realise it was that easy - I thought it would be specific ones you would have to get for the Mini, well I'm off to my local shop (Halfords).

Cheers

The ones from Halfords are poor quality and nowhere near the quality/build of the OEM ones. Get replacements from your dealer. There a bit more expensive but they're worth it.

I don't know about brands over there.. but you can get better than the OEM ones - try looking around for some silicon replacements.

Ended up getting some Bosch ones, bit more expensive than the Halfords - I don't like getting Halfords stuff, always a bit cheap and nasty.

get yourself to your dealer, they are only about £14 for the pair...and better quality than the halfords ones, they will last longer, trust me!

Well I've fitted the new (bosch) blades, and I must say they are 10 times better than the original mini ones I had, no smudges at all.

Anybody besides me notice that above about 60mph in heavy rain, the original driver side wiper tends to lift off the windshield while wiping?
