| 01 | can you stick vinyl to the black plastic skirts? Just wondering if this is possible, or whether they would fall off quickly........... |

| Remember | my guess would be no, as it is a slightly textured surface, so this would mean there is air between the plastic and the vinyl If a vinyl fitter says otherwise and offers to do it, I would make you get it in writing that they guarantee they won't peel off ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Interesting enough, I thought out the same process but tried it out with duck tape first. I didn't drive around with the tap on my Mini (tacky) but I was testing out a possible vynil job. here's a pic, I used white duck tape which stuck pretty well. It's the closest to the Aero skirt effect for free. ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | I was a vinyl sign maker for two years before recently changing jobs. The simple answer to yur question is yes they will stick but not for long. the black skirts on the mini are very shiny and most poeple also treat them with "back to black" or similar silicone products. to make the vinyl stick you would have to de-grease the skirts and also heat the vinyl up using a heat gun and actually push the vinyl into every dimple of the plastic. the downside of de-greasing your skirts is they wont be as black anymore. there are many different types of vinyl though and some would stick to the surface better than others. most vinyl you buy from anywhere would be standard 3 year vinyl this probably wont stick for long. But you would have more luck trying a special higher grade vinyl usually rated at 7yr this has stronger glue. |

Offline | I guess that means i cant get stripes all the way down the front bumper since i have the stock bumper on my 05MCS. I was hoping you could put vinyl on the black trimp at the bottom of the bumper to create the full complete look of stripes. Is there any other solution that this can be done?
