To Aero or not to Aero?

Just would like if anyone have a "desire" of getting BMW Aero Kit for the MINI but is either:

1)too expensive or

2)too wild

i think the mini is the best looking the way it is now
ppl should not change anything at all to it
if u are driving a cooper i think the only thing u should do to it is to get more HP for the car

Thumbs up

I quite like the Aero kit, but I would probably never fit one to any mini owned. I'm not really that flashy......

My sentiments exactly EB.

I was after just getting the side skirts but my dealer recons that you can't buy them on their own.

They come as part of a package.

Nah, you must be able to get them separately mate. What happens if you have an accident and only damage one side. Expensive insurance if you have to replace the whole kit for one sill !!.

You definatly can get each piece seperate. When I orded my kit the lady asked if I wanted just the side skirts or if I wanted the whole kit. (I was telling her how much I liked the body colored side skirts)

looks as if you're taking something you'd do to something as bland as a honda civic and making it interesting, isnt the mini cooper already interesting??

If I was buying a Cooper (which i'm not), mine would look the same as corleones (your top photo), but without the 5-star's centre caps. I really like the Aero kit.

But I agree, the Cooper on it's own is certainly not bland. Gorgeous design, which I guess is why we all want a MINI in one form or another.

Buying side skirts on their own.

hi everybody,

I have a copy of an actual dealer after market bulletin from BMW giving individual prices (in £ sterling). We,in England then have to add VAT(value added tax)on top of these prices which is 17.5%,the items come pre-painted but then there are fitting costs on top.I could post it on the site but because I have only had my comp about 3 weeks,I am not sure how to(I do have a scanner). If anyone is interested in seeing this bulletin, please tell me how to scan it onto this site, cheers, johnlummis.

Cool

Let me know when you find out.

I think side skirts will finish the car off nicely.

In my view the Aero kit a just another personal option.
IMO the mini looks best in its classic form
If your original attraction is to its retro look - why change its form at all.
It's all a matter of opinion I know

I reckon that the black grille surround, and black mesh grille looks excellent.

I'm getting Liquid Yellow, and want to replace the yellow grille with the black bits from the Aero Kit.

That's all. The rest of the car is perfect.

I've spoken to two different dealers and ended up with two different prices for the Aero kit installed. One quoted me US$1885 and the other was closer to US$2800. I think the latter dealer is trying to rip me off.
