Offline | picture of wheels on S needed I have been reading MINI2 for several months. There is a lot of good stuff and some real bull. Thanks in advance for the good stuff. I'm in... I am looking for pictures of a pure silver S with R-84 wheels (silver vee spokes). I like these and wonder why not many are shown. They look aggressive. I want 16's for a little sidewall cushion on the frost heaved roads in our state. Ess |

Offline | Perfect. The sun light is right. I am going for pure silver with a body colored roof. I can always paint the roof later. Other wise that's the car. Black leather as well. thanks Miniac Ess |

Offline | Re: picture of wheels on S needed For some reason, most people seem to prefer the 17" S-spokes to the 16" X-lites (R84). I got the X-lites for the same reason as you want 'em, and they're excellent. They look even better in the "flesh" than in the pics, and the ride and handling are excellent. |

Offline | Re: Re: picture of wheels on S needed (The 17" S spokes are part of the package. It's easy to order.) This makes sense to me. I am not on Beach Drive or Sunset Strip. I am thinking I will take off the run flats and go for an even softer sidewall. I don't mind losing a little in the corners. I might pack a tube (real back up for a garage fix of massive tire damage in the boonies) and Spare in a Can when touring. I have three cars now with over 400 k between them. None of the spares have seen the road. I've had good luck for many years I guess. How is the low freq. chasis rumble on bumps etc? Ess |

Offline | That PS/black looks great! Can anyone help with pics of a DS/white with the 16" X-lites? I was quoted prices for the 16" and 17" tyres yesterday - $160 AUS for the 16" - $450 for the 17"!!! Not totally confident in this pricing, but the local Mini dealer directed me to Bob Jane for them as they don't have any tyres and get BJ to deal with them all. The guy there had the official list and was sure those prices were right.... but didn't know what run-flats were! Disturbing as this is the guy my local (large) BMW/Mini dealer uses..... So, I'm seriously thinking of changing to X Lites, not because of the up-front costs, but because of the ongoing costs. Each puncture would cost $450 if they can't be repared, and to be honest given the lack of knowledge about run-flats I'd probably prefer them to be replaced, not fixed. X Lites look OK, don't they? Mini use them in the latest Cooper S videos on the Mini International site, and they look great with a DS/black - just not sure about DS/white. They're starting to grow on me as well, as are concerns about ride and handling. I've noticed that the latest reviews are generally on cars with 16" (including the Scottish drive review in the "news" section), even though the review cars are optioned up in every other way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cancelled.... (Cooper S, Dark Silver with white roof, Full leather (Lapis Blue / Black), 17" S spokes, DSC, interior lights, MFSW and Cruise Control, Xenons, Climate Control. Delivery early / mid-October) |
