Question Uk: Replacement rear number plate holder?

Hiya,

Does anyone know if i can get hold of a simple black number plate holder for the rear of my mcs...the one that came with the car has a dealer tag underneath, which is a bit too eye catching for my liking. I've seen chrome ones and ones that cover the whole recess, but i'm not keen...

or is it just a case of removing it and putting the plate directly on the car?

if not is it an easy swap?

My plate is just directly on the boot of the car. Held on by sticky number plate pads

I think two of those Dots are Secret Screws ... or its stuck on with Double Sided Tape.
In which case, try gently Prising it off ... & then with a little more Force

Looks nice. I saw a Black BMW with one yesterday and I thought I must get one.

the dealer ones that you have there are just a simple strip, it doesn't cover the whole of the rear of the plate. If you remove the plate from the car, you will see what I mean Then you will see that it is just simply stuck on. If your number plate itself doesn't have the dealer details, then that is why it is there, as there is some stupid legal thing about new cars having to have the dealer name on the plate I believe

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Just prise it back a bit and you'll see how it is held on.

OR

If there are screws/screw covers on the plate then it's screwed on, if it's not then its stuck on with double-sided pads.

To be honest, in the time you spent writing this thread, you could have taken it off and refitted it...twice. it aint rocket science
