Hi all, just wondering what the noise from my gearbox is.
Its a Mini one '52' Plate. When i'm driving the only way i can describe the noise is that it sound like the rotor blades from a helicopter inside the g/box, at 1st i thought it might have been something stuck on the inside of the wheel and it was hitting the underside of the car.
It only happens when its in gear and being driven and not when idling.
Anyone have any ideas or can put me in the right direction?
Apart from the noise the car is great and fun to drive

Hi everyone,

I've just noticed the Xenon headlight washers on my 05 MCS have stopped working.
I've made sure there is fluid in the reservoir and I'm aware that they don't work every time.
Funny thing is there must be some power getting to the motor as with the ignition on and the engine off the interior lights dim when the headlight washers are supposed to pop up.
Any thoughts - stuck pump? How hard is it to get to, is it a serviceable part?

Any replies welcome as my MOT is due soon!

Cheers

How easy is it to fit an alloy coolant header tank in place of the original plastic one on a 2003 Gen 1 MCS? Despite changing the filler cap twice the plastic tank still leaks from around the cap.
Will I have to drain the whole cooling system and bleed it on refilling, or can I get away with removing the old tank with just the loss of coolant in the tank and then refitting new one and topping up the system?

I'd like to do the job myself but if I'm going to have to refill and bleed the whole coolant system I think I will leave it to the garage when I have it next serviced.
