I'm Matt from Cardiff, recently picked up my first mini a few days ago and I love it. British racing green '02 R50 Mini Cooper. I've had to have the radiator replaced as it was leaking, looked like I may have clipped it on something, but all is going well now!

I've attached a few images, I haven't had the weather to clean and polish yet but she's looking and feeling good!

Looking forward to getting involved with the forum.

Its my daughter's wedding and she has always wanted to ride in a soft top mini.
None of the normal car hire firms can provide one, and the place I found one was London who only do 2 day minimum hire are charging £192 plus £108 each way delivery to Gosport in Hampshire.

I have a clean license etc and will sort out the correct insurance, can anyone help ? or at least advise where I can go (no rude answers...lol)

I have done a few repairs to it both door check straps were not working a cheep fix with 2 20 pence piece s also one parking sensor was faulty got from ebay £18 and the rear wiper was sized up which I dismantled and greased now working fine I love the car it is such fun to drive but it is let down by the brakes they can fade to no pedal in less than 3 miles from home when you set to.i have fitted 4 auxiliary gauges and updated the satnav to v32 which looks much better and loads faster will post some pics and tell more about the gauge installation later.

I've been looking around on the forums the past couple of weeks and though I'd say hi and show off my mini.
This is my first mini and my first diesel. So far I am loving the power/torque, but scared to death about curbing those beautiful alloys.

My names Ed, im from Cardiff and I have recently purchased an 03 MCS in Gunmetal Grey, it has only had 1 lady owner from new and has 32k miles on the clock (genuine mileage, papers to prove!).

Bodywork is not too shabby and only needs slight work to make it mint, has the usual carpark scuffs on the edges of the door, front and rear bumper, so i have plans to put it in the bodyshop once i get back from holiday to fix these, im fussy!

Have had it for 1 week so far and aboslutely love it, but its currently back in the garage i bought it from as there are a few minor issues that need to be resolved which are as follows:

Drivers side door lock does not unlock with the remote and has to be unlocked with the key, although it does lock with the remote, guess it needs new actuator or unit which is being arranged by the garage.

Car went into limp mode twice when giving it some beans, majority of the time its fine though and only happened twice, guess its a minor sensor issue causing the problem and is currently being diagnosed and sorted by the garage.

When it rained a few days ago there was a leak coming through the interior mirror itself, garage are arranging for windscreen specialist to replace the seals and refit the windscreen with new bonding as thats the most likely issue.

Glove box would not close, common fault with the handles having too much play in them after a while so this is being replaced also.

Hoping I have some luck with this car. Its replacing a 1996 Honda Civic 1.4 100k thats been in my family for 15 years. The engine is sound but it's disintegrating around the engine unfortunately.

Do you think it would be bad form to take along an ODB2 reader for when i pick the car up?
