Water leak from top of drivers door.

HI all,
Did a search of the forums and found plenty of posts on leaky convertible hoods but none on hardtops.
I'm less than a week into Cooper ownership and so am really trying to note any faults as the car is going back to the dealer next week for a couple of small warranty issues - get it all done at once is the plan.
The last couple of nights have been pretty wet and in the mornings I've had some water ingress from the top edge of the drivers door glass. It's not a huge amount, but the seat was a little wet - I also noticed this when I washed the car yesterday.
Anyone having the same problem - I imagine it's a fairly simple case of just swapping out the seal?
Cheers, Geoff.

I can provide a set of numbers for two clamps which are fitted in each door to press the window tighter against the door sealing. I had no leaking window but squeeking windows while running them up and down at temperatures above 25 deg. C.

BMW did not issue a recall for this, and these are numbers that worked in the BMW computer system in the Netherlands, my dealer placed the clamps for free. No more squeeking and I believe wind noise is lower at high speed. They may also solve the leaking window problem.

Clamp part number; 5133 7 177925 (4 needed).

Service bulletin number ; 4914147, (also called PUMA-announcement)
Diagnoses number is; 5133123900, kind of warrenty/clai number.

Let us know if these numbers work in your country too

does your window close all the way up??

when you sit inside the car can you see daylight from around the windows edge??

if its yes then the window may just need tighening to its running frame as it may have dropped slightly...

EMPTY SPACE NEEDS FILLING....
but it has to be something that wont get me banned

also, it might seem obvious and i hope u arent offended but i had the same thoughts as to the seal, but it may just be a few drops falling from the top edge of the door when u open it. ive noticed a number of times now in my new mini that the seat gets a few drops on it if its wet along the roof, when i open the door. i wouldnt rush into get it resealed or wotever till ur sure its not that causing the wet splats

HI Guys,
It's definately the seal.
Window raises just fine, but somehow the water is getting behind the glass in a few spots.
It also happens when I wash the car, I can see the water between the seal and the glass and on the seat before I open the door.

It's no big deal but as it's a new car the sooner I get it fixed the better.
I have very few complaints with my Mini, overall it's amazing!!

Cheers, Geoff.
