CV Joint Trouble Anyone?

Hi folks,

Anyone had CV joints replaced yet?

I have 47,000 miles done on my 03 MCS and there is that 'click clack' noise from both sides when I drive on full steering lock.

I'm wondering if it is a bit early for this to be happening or is this typical or could it possibly be something else, (gearbox?).

If it is the outer CV, can it be removed from the drive without taking the shaft out of the gearox?

Also, what else, (besides the boots), should I replace when I'm doing the job.

many thanks in advance for any help.

Tim

I've discovered that it is not the CV.

It was slight movement happening between either hub and disc or disc and wheel enenthough the wheel nuts were tight. My discs are non stock with aluminium centres.

I used sand paper to clean off all contact surfaces, problem solved.
