The side marker light on my COOPER has fallen off several times over the last few weeks. It looks like it is only held in by a tab and then a post pushed through a rubber gromit. I don't know if the bumpy roads are causing the post to work itself out of the rubber gromit.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Is there supposed to be soemthing on the back side of the post to keep it from coming back so easily through the rubber gromit?

Hi Mini1380.

I had the same problem about 2 weeks after I got my MINI ONE, last October. Luckily, the light came adrift when I was only about 2 miles from my dealership so I turned round and took it straight in. I can't remember the exact details but I think they said the fixing was slightly bent. Whatever they did (and it only took a few minutes) it has stayed firmly fixed in place since then so it might be worth getting your dealer to have a look at it next time you go there.

I was able to pull out just a little bit on the metal body part with the rubber(?) gromit. When putting the side marker light back in, I heard a SNAP which I hadn't heard before. I am assuming that it is now fixed.

The post on the driver-side repeater light grille on my 'S' broke last week ... dealer replaced the whole assembly.
