Radiator steam after 10 mn drive

I get this now and again - when stopping at a light after 10mn there's some steam coming out of the bonnet - Cooper - not a dragon.
Anyone else - all levels are stable..

I had this problem last week, i usually only get it while its raining so i put it down to water getting onto the intercooler, but last week it did it while it wasn't raining!

so i took it into BMW and they spent about 10 - 15mins checking it out and they said it all seemed OK.

for whats its worth its probably best to take it in.

Thanks for the replies - I'll ask the dealer to take a look at this pretty soon.

My ONE did this yesterday evening! I'd parked up outside a pub under some lights, and looking back at the car, I noticed steam coming out of the grille. I said to my girlfriend that it was 'snorting' like a dragon. Seems alright, just rain and engine heat I reckon.

My Cooper does this as well - I've checked levels & seem fine.

All I can think is that rain/condensation on bonnet runs down front grill & onto something hot.

So I'm not alone! Jonny.C, I back what you're saying as for my Cooper this usually happens at the very same traffic light (slightly uphill) so it could be that coming to a stop actually moves some rain/condensation water forward and then back on some hot surface..
And the last days have been particularly rainy herre in Belgonia..
