Offline | Remove rear (tail) light cluster? I want to remove a rear (tail) light cluster - I've got condensation in there, must be a leak. All the FAQs say is "remove taillight" but it doesn't say how. Any tips? -- Nigel |

Offline | There's a 10mm nut that you need to remove, and then it's a case of pressing it out, you may need to push in tabs that are also at the back of the lights, but sometimes these can be overcome just by pushing/pulling the light unit. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | They can be extremely ackward to remove. Just depends on how well the lights are made. I swapped my clear lights from my Cooper Works to my Hartge S and they were a nightmare to remove the clear lights (actually it was a nightmare installing them). However the original lights on the S virtually fell out! Hope you are lucky ![]() ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

| I am not a number!! | inside the boot of the MINI there is a hatch in the trim on either side, you open this and then gain access to the light cluster. This is held in place by a nut which is a right pain to get to and it may take some time and a bit of patience to undo it. Make sure you swear lot at you remove the skin from your knuckles, and when you finally have the nut off swear again as you probably drop it into the body shell of the MINI ![]() Just take your time, be careful, and when tightening them back up don't over tighten as the bolt you thread the nut onto can snap off and this means a complete new unit ![]() I didn't mean it ![]() |
