Number of miles and number of problems

How many miles do you have on your MC / MCS / MCSc?

How many problems did you have?

Problem types:

Severe: makes the car un-driveable, such as the gearbox breaking

Moderate: affects performace, such as ABS not working, or windows not working

Annoyance: rattles, squeaks etc.

I realize this is a self-selected sample, and the likely respondents represent a very small percentage of Mini owners. It may still provide some insight on how well Minis hold up over time.

21,000 months, 21 months and no problems worthy of any note. It has needed one new windscreen wiper blade in that time though

Well, I have a little rattle on the top right panel of my new S Convertible...it comes and goes, but nothing really. And on my last model...an 05 cooper...I only have 1 problem....something with the emissions light coming on.

I'm happy

Just over 12mths old, 4600miles

Blown ABS controller that was blowing the wheelspin sensors. Other than that, a rattle that got fixed.

Pretty happy!

Just 2000 miles and the illuminated sills stopped illuminating. Hope it's just a fuse or something. Other that that the MSC is a dream come true.

2 Year old Cooper (born this week in '04) 30,000 miles

Nothing at all apart from a few odd rattles from trim until....last month.

Had the passenger seat back replaced as it locked in position.
Speedo was buzzing on startup when it was very cold. Has stopped now, even though dealer couldn't find a fault. They did take it apart though, so maybe sorted it by accident.
The infamous drivers window smear on the inside.. had it for ages, but got the window seal replaced as it was getting really bad, and wouldn't clear.

Been an absolute hoot to own, and if I swap it, it will be for another one!

Currently my 18 Months MINI Cooper S running on 22,000KM = 1375 Miles

No major issue so far just. @312 Miles = problem with rubber on original Pulley - replace it
@1000 Miles = problem with BC1 box (Internal computer control for electronic) replace
@13100 Miles = Power Steering Fan replace

All cover by BMW TH warranty. Still going strong for MINI

Happy MOD owner

I year and 3 weeks and 12,500 miles into MOD ownership and 2 minor faults: at less than 1,500 miles interior light central bulb needed (free) replacement. At 6,500 miles passenger sport part leather seat became stuck in full recline posistion- cables inside had come adrift, fixed under warranty. Apart from those 2 minor issues nothing to report am happy to say.

2 month of MCSC 16400kms. Burnt clutch at 6200kms. Roof wear, Passenger sideskirt fell off twice. New passenger side panel and a stress fracture in the windscreen, plus constant problems with the DSC taking over the car and causing a shut down of the clutch.

Had my 51 plate Cooper for just over a year and my god I've had more problems in this year than I ever had with the other 2 cars I had.
Its done 25000 miles.
Within 2 months of me buying it, a woman reversed into my passenger door and crushed it completely, but that was taken care of by her insurance. 2 weeks after I got it back from garage all fixed, I was opening my door to get out at petrol station when another woman crushed it. I was devastated.....again.
Then my passenger seat decided to break, the back of it moves it won't lock into position and to get it forward to let someone in the back you have to give the back of the chair a push.
Then it got recalled for faulty wiring. It had it's 1st service inspection on Friday and there is something wrong with my handbrake.
And the back windscreen wiper blade had come loose without me knowing and it has ver thinly scratched my window into a semi circle shape. God knows how I can get that fixed, Im guessing i'll have to replace the whole window.

AAAARRRGGGHHHH. It's draining away all my money I'm sure it's cursed. But god i love driving it.

56,200 miles on a May 04 MCS and not one problem since day one. The only thing its needed is new tyres, plenty of petrol and the routine services....

2002 + 32,000 miles

The usual squeaks and rattles. New tires - runflats didn't last. I've recently installed my second skid plate since we have dirt and gravel roads where I live. Had a new throw-out bearing installed. I'm happy with the car and still enjoy the hell out of driving it.
