Front fog light severly cracked

Hi guys, barely 2 weeks into my mini experience I have found that my driver side front fog light is severely cracked, it works but is not to nice to look at when off. What exactly do I need to replace as its the lens thats cracked, can you buy a bulb or do I need to buy a whole new unit? seen whole units on ebay for around £7 inc p&p. Have also seen this MINI Motoring: Removing the Front Bumper Cover rather good tutorial, now since my dealer wants £150+VAT for 1 hrs labour (that what they told me it takes time wise) + parts I am not even entertaining a dealer job. so your helps much appreciated.

Thanks

Marlan

Just buy a new unit. Had to change one in my Cooper Works. Easiest way to change is to remove the front bumper and unscrew the wheel arch liner. If you use a stubby screw driver you can get full access just by turning the wheel, so no need to jack up the car at all. The stubby will also be short enough to unscrew the screws under the front bumper.

The unit is held on by three screws, again the stubby comes in handy here. Just reuse the original bulb if it is OK. If it there is a chance it got dirt, grease or oil on it I'd replace it as it won't last very long and you don't want to have to take all the wheel arch down again to change it.

It was acceptable in the 80's
