Comfort Opening

Guys,

I'm not sure if I have a problem or not. On my previous MINI, when I press and hold the unlock button on the key, the windows and sunroof would all open (also opened when I held the unlock button in the up position on the toggle switch).

My MCS doesn't seem to be able to do this, using either the key or the toggle switch.

Should this happen and is it something the dealer can put right at no cost to myself?

I think it's dealer programmed, so maybe yours forgot on delivery. My MCS does it, I always think it's a PITA that you can't SHUT the windows with the key. This would be a much more useful feature IMO.
The dealer should check your "driver preference settings" for free and reprogramme them as you wish. This should also help determine if you actually have a fault.

Lock the car with the key - turn it anti-clockwise and hold it there and the windows will shut.

Not sure I knew that. But what I meant was, close the windows remotely with the key, if you can open them remotely, why not close them?

Talk to Mikeythemini, he owns newministuff.co.uk. he sells a module that will close the windows remotley.

Sorry for misunderstanding, but I think as far a remote closing goes they say it's a safety issue. Not quite sure why doing it with the key is safer than remote.

Just like the one-touch closing of the passenger window. Don't know what makes shutting the driver's window safer than the passenger's.

Well I did read somewhere that if the passenger's window was 1 touch, the driver might not notice that the passenger had his/her head sticking out of the window when pressing the up button. Of course you might imagine these drivers to be also prone to getting their own heads stuck in the drivers side window .
It makes you wonder if this is a case of a bug becoming a feature.
